What it does
An analog photography logbook that keeps the metadata a film camera never records, so every frame reaches the scanner with its settings and its location attached:
- Rolls with film stock, ISO, camera and frame count, archived once they’re finished
- Aperture and shutter speed dialled in on ruler sliders, one entry per frame
- Every shot geotagged and reverse-geocoded to a city and country, with a flag strip per roll
- Imported photos matched to logged frames, writing the settings into the scan’s EXIF
- Year in Review — a world map of every frame, countries visited, most-used stock, monthly activity, and a card you can share
- iCloud sync across devices
- An offline film stock library, searchable by name or manufacturer, with recently used to hand
Why I built it
I want to keep memories of where I took my film shots. Travelling, I sometimes hit a spot I wouldn’t mind coming back to, and film gives you nothing to go on — no EXIF, no coordinates, no date. The scans come back months later and the roll is a pile of frames I can’t place. So the app records the settings and the location while I’m shooting, and puts them back onto the photos afterwards.
